Method
- 1
Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan). Line two baking trays with baking paper.
- 2
Mix the pork mince, your ready made Thai green curry paste (see the base recipe), spring onions, fish sauce and cornflour in a bowl until well combined.
- 3
Roll out your ready made shortcrust pastry (see the base recipe) into a long strip about 12 cm wide. Spoon the pork mixture down the middle in a thick line.
- 4
Brush one edge with egg, fold the pastry over and press to seal. Cut into 16 short rolls and place seam side down on the trays.
- 5
Brush with egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until deep golden and the pork is cooked through with no pink.
27 min 30 s - 6
Mix your ready made sambal (see the base recipe) with the yoghurt for a cooling dip. Serve warm.
Tips
- Cook one roll through to check the pork is no longer pink before serving all.
- Chilled pastry is easier to handle. Keep it cool.
- Freeze them uncooked and bake from frozen for 35 minutes.
Storing and freezing
Cool within 1 to 2 hours. Keep in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze baked rolls for up to 2 months. Reheat until steaming hot all the way through.
Questions
Can I use sausage meat instead of mince?
Yes, but check the label as many sausages contain wheat. Pork mince is simplest.
Can I make them ahead?
Yes. Assemble and freeze raw for up to 3 months, then bake straight from the freezer.
Are these spicy?
Medium. The dip is the hot part, so serve it on the side.
