- Turkey thigh stays juicier than breast in a long simmer.
- Cool leftovers fast and keep within 3 days.
Storing and freezing
Cool within 1 to 2 hours and keep in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat until steaming hot all the way through.
Questions
Can I use turkey breast?
Yes, but cut it into chunks and add it for only the last 10 to 12 minutes so it does not dry out.
Can I use cooked turkey?
Yes, add cooked turkey near the end and heat until piping hot. Reduce the stock a little as the turkey adds no liquid.
Can I use butternut squash?
Yes, swap it for the sweet potato in equal weight.
